Meet your Vicksburg Farmers

Hello! My name is Ted Roberts, a 5th generation farmer based in Vicksburg. I’ve been happily married to my lovely wife for 10 years, and we have three kids who love music, Minecraft, and a bit of mischief.

We started our journey in 2019 when Ted began to farm the neighbors 20 acre field.

In 2020, we decided to take our farm in a new direction and go back to our roots by custom selling meat directly to customers, both whole and by the side.

By 2024, to better serve our community, we recognized the need for more manageable meat portions. So, we obtained our MDARD license to start selling individual cuts of meat directly to local residents.

Why Sell Direct to Customers?

During the pandemic, we witnessed how massive corporations brought the supply chain to a halt, leaving customers unable to buy meat in stores, while we were left unable to sell to large processors. This situation made us realize the need to return to our roots. We renewed our relationships with local suppliers and processors to keep our products local. We didn’t want mega-corporations interfering with our products. Instead, we chose to work with local suppliers and processors we knew and trusted, ensuring our clients could do the same.
